Jaguar XJ Wins What Car? Luxury Car Green Award 2010

The Jaguar XJ 3.0 Diesel V6 won best Luxury Car at the 2010 What Car? Green Awards.

As What Car? Editor-in-chief Steve Fowler said, "…the Jaguar XJ is equipped with an efficient, high-tech diesel engine which in a comparatively light car makes for some spectacular emissions figures: CO2 is just 184g/km, while NOx is an equally impressive 0.142g/km."

Aside from being lighter - the result of using our aerospace-inspired aluminium body technology - the Jaguar XJ contains around 50% recycled material in the body. This alone saves three tons of CO2 per vehicle. And plans are to increase that figure to 75%.

Furthermore, the XJ uses low-energy manufacturing processes and is easy to recycle at the end of its life. So it's hardly surprising that What Car judges said "it's the best green luxury car money can buy".
