Earthwatch Employee Expedition
In 2010, 11 Jaguar Land Rover employees won the chance to take part in a research
expedition in the remote Samburu-Laikipia region of Kenya.
The competition, which we run with our environmental partner Earthwatch, allows lucky Jaguar Land Rover
employees to experience environmental issues firsthand and bring what they have
learned back into the workplace.
The winners spent two weeks accompanying Earthwatch scientists as they tracked and
monitored the endangered Grevy’s zebra. Whilst there they also took part in a sustainability
challenge, in which they observed how factors such as CO2 emissions, the earth’s
resources and engagement relate to wildlife and Kenyan communities.
The expedition gave those who took part a once in a lifetime opportunity to participate
in an important scientific research programme. All the while gaining new skills
and a greater appreciation for our sustainability commitments.
