Apprentice FAQs

Following my application when should I expect to hear back?

We will email all candidates to confirm whether they have reached the next stage of the process by mid April at the latest.

What are the different types of Apprenticeship training offered by Jaguar Land Rover?

We have an Advanced Apprenticeship scheme for candidates qualified to GCSE level and a Higher Apprenticeship scheme if you choose to join with A Level qualifications – entry requirements for each scheme can be reviewed here. Each scheme leads to different levels of vocational and academic qualifications, so it is important that you choose the right scheme for you based on your education to date and your career preferences. Once you have started your training on one of the schemes, we will assign you to an appropriate career pathway based upon the needs of the business.

What is the culture like?

Jaguar Land Rover is a dynamic and innovative business that invests strongly in new technologies and sustainability. You will be encouraged to ‘Think Green’ from day one of the programme. As you’d expect from a large, globally recognised company, we offer an organised and professional working environment. We’ll expect you to behave appropriately, come to work regularly and on time, and give your role everything you’ve got throughout your whole apprenticeship.

When does the Apprenticeship Schemes start?

If you pass our assessment process and achieve the grades required for your role, then you will start at the beginning of the next academic year in September. No apprentices start before this as we do team-based inductions.

How do I apply?

You can apply on line. We do not accept any other forms of application, such as CVs etc.

Where are the Apprenticeship Schemes based?

You will be based at one of our West Midlands sites, our new Wolverhampton site or our Halewood site in Liverpool.

If you apply for an opportunity in the West Midlands, then the particular site you’ll be based at will depend on our business and the requirements for that particular role. Also, as part of your training, you may be asked to work at other sites from time to time.

Do the Apprenticeship Schemes lead to a confirmed job offer at the end of the apprenticeship?

This is certainly our aim and it’s the reason why we invest so much in our apprenticeships. However, nothing can be absolutely guaranteed. Of course, by working hard and showing us you have the talent to help us succeed, you will give yourself every chance of getting a permanent job here. Either way, though, you will have gained valuable and highly transferable skills.

What’s Jaguar Land Rover’s view on Equal Opportunities?

Jaguar Land Rover has a broad mix of employees and we welcome applications from men and women of all backgrounds. Moreover, we guarantee each application will be treated fairly and without discrimination.

Do you make reasonable adjustments for people with disabilities?

Yes, we apply reasonable adjustments to accommodate individuals with disabilities so it's important that within the application form you inform us of any particular requirements you have during the application process.

How do I contact you for further information?

If you have a specific question that’s not covered on this site, please email us at jaguarlandrover@tmpw.co.uk.
