The first Land Rover arrived on the scene in 1948. It was a vehicle of simple design and unrivalled strength and durability. Over 60 years on and it is estimated that more than two-thirds of these original Land Rovers are still running - many of them in the most severe conditions on earth.
So it's hardly surprising that Land Rovers are used during relief efforts the world over. In fact, we support Red Cross efforts worldwide, and our vehicles are enabling the Pakistan Red Crescent Society to transport supplies to thousands of people left stranded by flooding. Of course, Land Rovers are used for much more than providing aid during humanitarian crises. It's just satisfying to know that when people need a vehicle they can really count on, they so often turn to us.
