Without this investment in product creation and our future, we wouldn't be able to realise the concepts from the far reaches of our Designers' and Engineers' creativity. We wouldn't be trail blazing ahead of our competitors, nor would we continue to be the ultimate destination for customers.

So far we've been able to improve lightweight vehicle architectures, develop advanced sensory controls, maximise engine efficiency, research electrifications, harness alternative fuels and further the application of technology in our vehicles.

From original and unique sparks of inspiration right through to the physical realisation of a vision, we're the only UK automotive manufacturer that covers the entire spread of product creation.

Each step requires a steady flow of fresh thinking, approaches and investment. Our advanced research department is the corner stone of this and is located on the Warwick University campus to support close academic collaboration. In fact, we work closely with a wide range of leading universities, research bodies and industrial partners, both within and outside of the UK.

It shocks some people to learn that 85% of a Jaguar is recyclable and that our diesel engines are assembled using only wind power. Many don't realise that thanks to our impressive CO2 offset programme we're offsetting 100% of the manufacturing emissions of all Land Rovers built in the UK. This impressive programme also offsets the emissions from the first 45,000 miles they are on the road as well. But that's just the beginning. We've made substantial multi-million pound investments specifically focused on ways to reduce CO2 even further.

We are making great steps in the right direction, but we're always looking to do more. We're always open to fresh ideas.

Our Virtual Reality Centre is the most sophisticated facility of its kind in the world. Using cutting-edge projection technology and an advanced motion tracking system, it provides an unparalleled virtual reality environment for simulating vehicle interiors and exteriors, so much so that it's capable of making bodywork appear solid or transparent. Not only does the system make the product and prototype development system quicker, but it is also greener because it reduces manufacturing processes and waste.
