WHAT TO EXPECT

Reporting to the CME Process Lead Engineer and to the CME Process Engineering Manager, the department is responsible for all Manufacturing Engineering activities within Final Assembly on current model year programmes.

 

This role will provide engineering and technical support to develop, implement and maintain manufacturing production processes and associated equipment to enable efficient manufacture of current products. 

This includes the creation and continuous improvement of process, all process equipment, delivery of tools, jigs & fixtures, quality problem solving, data analysis and reporting of major issues, deployment of failure mode avoidance tools, support of cross-functional teams in the resolution of those issues on projects and the tracking of resolution through to completion.

 

You’ll be part of a team of engineers, the role requires collaboration across functions to ensure we have established compliance with the BOP to deliver processes that meet our basic minute value (BMV) and quality targets. It is also important for us to share best practice across the platforms and between manufacturing plants to ensure we employ the best processes available wherever possible.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  • Application of Lean Manufacturing and Design principles.
  • Production CME Line Process Engineer for allocated area – supporting all local area activities and reviews.
  • Responsibility for local area current Control Plan adherence and updates (including PFMEAs).
  • Attend programme meetings at all levels and present where applicable.
  • Feasibility of all process designs to suit manufacturing build requirements – Design for Assembly (DFA).
  • Planning, developing, implementation and continuous improvement of all capable GSPAS Processes for manufacturing, including change management.
  • Planning, development, procurement and implementation of all Process equipment tooling, jigs and fixtures for manufacturing.
  • Update of related Manufacturing Execution system data to support deployment of process for HTFB onwards -  GMES, Synatec, DC tool, PV, Build card
  • Process Capability of all processes and equipment, including Dimensional Management applications.
  • Quality Planning, Problem Solving and Analysis for Manufacturing.
