I work on future vehicle concepts. These are the cars that will appear in 2025 and beyond.

New perspectives and fresh ideas. Diversity gives us the competitive edge we need to stay out in front. Our unique training scheme has been designed to support ambitious female engineers who want to make an impression, whilst studying for their degree. It includes being paired up with a buddy from our Women in Engineering Network & Allies group . Plus, we’ll give you a £1,500 bursary on the understanding that you return to us for repeat placements or are offered a place to join our graduate scheme when you’ve completed your studies.

As an ambitious female undergraduate engineer, you’ll join us every summer during your degree and, if appropriate, for your Industrial Placement too.

Contributing to our global success from the moment you arrive, you’ll be involved in real projects that make a real impact. And as you work with our teams of expert engineers on the production of our incredible cars, you’ll build valuable experience that will not only supplement your academic studies but could act as a springboard to a future career with us.

You must have completed your first year by summer 2020 or be in your penultimate year of study (i.e. Returning to complete your final year of study following your placement with us or returning to university to study a Masters). You'll need to be studying for a relevant degree in any Engineering discipline and be on track for at least a 2:2. Please only apply to one of our undergraduate programmes. We want you to be confident in the path you’ve chosen – using your qualifications, developing your skills and appealing to your interest.

  • Salary: £17,000 p.a (or approximately £326 per week)
  • Our Sponsorship Schemes also pay a bursary payment of £1,500 – on the understanding that you return for your placement the following year
  • 24 days’ annual leave for those on placements longer than 3 months
  • Mentoring and coaching from industry-leading experts

“I’m so much better at preparing and planning projects in University thanks to the skills I’ve picked up here.”

I love being given the opportunity to develop in a globally recognised business. This has been so helpful when I’ve gone back to University. I’m so much better at preparing and planning projects thanks to the skills I’ve picked up here. I love being given the freedom to come up with ideas for the future and present them to management and even higher. When I applied here, I was amazed that I didn’t have to be a car fanatic to succeed here. Jaguar Land Rover want people with ideas, who are fascinated by overcoming technical and engineering challenges to benefit people and the planet.

Women in Engineering Sponsorship Scheme

“I always wanted to work with cars because I wanted to have an impact on how cars interact with society and how we can change the impact we have on the environment.”

The freedom you get here is great. I’ve been encouraged to go and meet new people, explore possibilities and try new things. What I’ve seen here has really opened my eyes. The investment in R&D is incredible. And the level of detail we go into blows my mind. One of my favourite events is the weekly Electrical Graduate Breakfast Forum. This is where apprentices, graduates and undergraduates all get together to talk about the challenges we are working on and share hints and tips. It’s a brilliant networking opportunity and a great way to build your knowledge and career.
