We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Leadership team within the Assisted and Automated Driving Domain (AAD). The complex, safety critical and distributed nature of AAD Products and Systems presents a unique and rewarding engineering challenges.
This is becoming more critical in the era of the software defined vehicle, where the worlds of system and software architecture are starting to merge. This role helps to pull us all together; defining, designing and integrating the systems and solutions that underpin the AAD Product Portfolio.

- Drive technology and solutions - You will be responsible for the solution architecture roadmap/runway of the Driver Assistance Platform, ensuring that this aligns with and delivers against the Product Roadmaps that is supports.
- Provide cross-discipline leadership – you will be responsible to collaborate with and guide others, ensuring an aligned and fit for purpose architecture for the System, Software and Hardware.
- Champion innovation - evaluating new technologies/solutions and applying systems thinking principles to develop the next generation of Assistance and Automated Driving Automation systems.
- Embrace a Growth mindset - Continuously learning and looking for ways to improve our architectures and design, making effective and necessary changes for the best customer experience.
- Be curious, and solutions focussed - Finding less visible problems and working creatively and collaborating with the team to solve these.
- Help to develop others - Supporting the creation of the “body of knowledge” for Assisted and Automated Systems at JLR and ensure continuous improvement to methods and standards, supporting your own growth as well as your wider team and project.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
As a technical leader you will be responsible for guiding a diverse team of Engineers; leading the resolution of complex, cross-functional designs issues. The global context of AAD technology introduces new challenges in ensuring that our solutions are adaptable, scalable and configurable. This role will be pivotal in ensuring that the AAD Platform (System, Hardware and Software) is architected to meet these ever-changing demands. You will need experience in the following skillsets:

- Proven record in designing and architecting complex, safety critical embedded systems, including but not limited to: life cycle management, power architecture, SoC/MCU/peripheral communication and fault handling.
- Understanding of industry standard software solutions(Adaptive & Classic AUTOSAR stacks), operating systems and their configuration (e.g. QNX, Linux, Android).
- Expert level of competence in all aspects of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): concept design, requirements authoring, logical and solution architecture, quality and legal activities.
- Competent in system and SW modelling (SysML / UML, ideally in MSOSA tool)
- Proven knowledge of Driver Assistance Systems or associated technology (Computer Vision, Image processing, Machine learning, Path planning, Sensor-Fusion, Vehicle Dynamics + Control).
- Ability to rapidly understand the key concepts of the system of interest and to lead groups of SME’s to design and architect these systems.
- Understanding of Functional Safety (ISO-26262), Cyber Security (ISO-21434), GDPR and Quality techniques.
