The Opportunity

We are currently going through an exciting digital transformation, with a view of putting data at the heart of the luxury brand and customer experience.

The new Digital Platform Team are looking for an Active Directory Senior SME/Architect to help curate the current Legacy and new AD environment, having Azure knowledge will also be highly beneficial.

This will be part of a new function within the team and it will be a broad role, with strategy, design and hands on as required.

The mission is to insource from the current 3rd Party Supplier,  migrate certain functions to an IAM solution, retire all the old legacy domains and provide an enterprise class service for JLR and support it’s end user customer base.

The senior SME’s will be providing guidance, strategy and operational support whilst guiding and mentoring others

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Understand customer requirements and focus on current / future business needs.
  • Assess the requirements and offer solutions to the approved roadmap of services driving new product capability and service catalogues, that are in line with the strategic vision for the enterprise and wider best practice.
  • Provide guidance to the JLR team on Azure/Microsoft Technologies and lifecycle management.
  • Ensure that appropriate product roadmaps are maintained and that appropriate plans are in place for periodic review
  • Provide technical input during the development of new/enhanced systems and ensure that all essential elements (methods and tools, functionality, service quality, systems management etc.) are considered
  • Perform solution options analysis and product selection with focus on risk, service assurance and total Cost of Ownership.
  • Provide support for the team within MI
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Extensive hands on experience of designing, implementing and  supporting Global Azure cloud solutions that support AD.
  • Real world Azure implementation and operational support in a large Enterprise Environment.
  • Hands on experience and SME knowledge of Azure networking, ARM templates, Azure patching, monitoring and Azure security capabilities and implementations.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills, to identify issues impacting or potentially impacting on the end user experience.
  • Proactive mind set offering practical solutions.
  • Process awareness and ability to document Standard Operating Procedures for all to understand and follow, with the ability to cascade and support.
  • Security awareness to evolve and improve the security of JLR.
  • Self starter always looking for the next 1% improvement.
  • Automation and the ability to script to produce reports and analysis to support any changes/recommendations.
  • Advanced relevant qualifications in Microsoft AD disciplines.

 

Desirable:

  • ForgeRock IAM/PAM solutions.
  • Azure cloud infrastructure design and support.
  • Advanced scripting
  • Quest tooling.
  • Barracuda firewalling.
  • AD experience.
