WHAT TO EXPECT
In this role, every day brings something new. You’ll explore fresh challenges, learn from the brightest minds and help ensure our electric and hybrid products meet exceptional quality standards. Here’s what to expect:
• Carry out teardowns and quality audits on battery packs, modules and frames, escalating issues and ensuring everything aligns with engineering requirements.
• Investigate quality concerns and warranty returns using a range of electrical diagnostic techniques, all within Safe Systems of Work.
• Rig and prepare products for testbeds, run tests, interpret results and complete the required documentation for live electrical work.
• Drive continuous improvement through Lean and Kaizen practices, working closely with teams across Operations, Maintenance, Product Validation Testing (PVT), and Safety.
• Support the high voltage safety culture by ensuring battery testing, tooling and processes meet required standards and safeguarding practices.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
There are several skills that will help you succeed here, including:
• Experience diagnosing and investigating electrical faults, using tools such as insulation testing, breakdown detection and voltage monitoring
• Knowledge of electrical safe working practices and an understanding of preventing arcflash hazards
• Experience using mechanical tools such as saws, CNC equipment and air powered tools, with a strong focus on safe operation
• A Level 3 qualification such as an NVQ, City and Guilds, IMI or equivalent in a relevant physical discipline including Electrical, Mechanical, Maintenance or Engineering
• Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel, and the ability to travel to other sites when needed
• Experience in the following is desirable: high voltage or lithium systems; metallurgical or welding assessment skills; metrology knowledge or experience running testbeds and analysing battery data.
