As a Paint Application Robotics Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving automated paint application equipment, processes and quality standards. You'll support the transition to JLR's new Castle Bromwich paint facility while working with advanced robotics and manufacturing technology. WHAT TO EXPECT
You'll be at the heart of improving paint application performance, helping production teams achieve outstanding quality and efficiency. Working closely with operations, maintenance teams and suppliers, you'll use data, problem-solving and continuous improvement techniques to deliver meaningful results while building your skills in a highly collaborative environment.
- Monitoring and maintaining robotic paint application equipment to ensure consistent quality, appearance and process capability
- Inspecting painted vehicle bodies, assessing film thickness and appearance, and implementing corrective actions when required
- Supporting preventative maintenance activities across mechanical, pneumatic and fluid delivery systems used within paint operations
- Identifying and delivering process optimisation projects, reducing waste and improving paint application performance through data-driven actions
- Investigating production issues through structured problem-solving and root cause analysis, helping deliver robust and sustainable solutions
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills and experiences that you'll need to help you succeed here, including:
- Holding an NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent in an engineering discipline
- Demonstrating experience within a paint manufacturing environment, with knowledge of paint application processes considered highly advantageous
- Working with robotics, automated manufacturing equipment or robot paint programmes within an industrial environment
- Applying knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic and fluid delivery systems, ideally within paint application or production operations
- Using structured problem-solving techniques, clear communication skills and a growth mindset to learn, improve and grow
