JOB TITLE: Component Engineer

WHAT YOU WILL DO

 

  • Manage EDS (Electrical Distribution Systems), software documentation, including device transmittal, GRADE, EMC, network releases
  • Develop strong relationships with mechatronics suppliers to support new developments
  • Scrutiny of supplier proposals and cababilites during the sourcing phase
  • Chairing weekly supplier meetings and maintaining meetings minutes relating to the mechatronics
  • Tracking component deliverables (e.g: RMDV RTCs, including supplier items and the dependencies AIMS) to drive consistency, and efficiency with metrics
  • Reporting component deliverables status at JLR review meetings

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

 

  • Strong knowledge of Sensor Technology and Mechatronics
  • Previous experience as a Mechatronics Engineer practitioner across the whole Systems Engineering lifecycle
  • Knowledge of Powertrain units and system design principles and attributes
  • Strong experience developing strong relationships with suppliers to support new developments
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners
  • A good communicator with the ability to clearly communicate and explain complex ideas
  • Knowledge of programme delivery systems and lifecycles (e.g.PCDS framework)
