JOB TITLE: Control System Engineer (Vehicle Dynamics)

This role will be within the Hungarian Controls Chapter team, forming part of the Chassis Engineering (CE) department of JLR, which provides system, control and software design, development and testing expertise for existing and future CE related features such as Motion Control, Torque Management, Driveline Controls, Terrain Response, Active Suspension, Active Damping, State Estimation, etc.
The main responsibility of the Controls Chapter is to support chassis product development by providing technical expertise in the field of control theory:
- when responding to a stakeholder request, a technical solution is researched and proposed for the product;
- further support is provided to stakeholders during the industrialisation of the developed algorithm
WHAT TO EXPECT

- Design and develop control system and state estimation algorithms.
- Design and conduct vehicle tests
- Demonstrate algorithms in simulation and on vehicle
- Work with chassis feature owners to develop control system requirements for their feature
- Support the product delivery teams during the application of the developed algorithm
- Give training and technical guidance in the field of control theory
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:
Essential:
- Control Theory (e.g. classical, non-linear, adaptive, optimal, predictive, robust, stochastic, soft, etc.)
- Model based Control System development, ideally using Matlab Simulink
- Modelling vehicle dynamics (or similar in the field of Kinematics, Mechanics, Dynamics)
Desirable:
- Experience with embedded real-time systems
- Experience with rapid prototyping tools (e.g. dSPACE, SpeedGoat, etc)
- Vehicle networks and network diagnostic, logging and calibration tools (e.g. Vector)
- Driving license
