JOB TITLE: EP Central Quality Manager

LOCATION: HU - Budapest

Reimagine the future of modern luxury at JLR Hungary. Here you'll find roles from technical to supply chain. You'll collaborate with global teams across multiple sites and work with cutting-edge innovations to deliver extraordinary experiences. Your work will directly shape the next generation of our iconic brands. Come, create an exceptional future.

WHAT TO EXPECT

At JLR, delivering exceptional customer quality experiences remains one of our highest priorities. As our BEV, PHEV and MHEV product portfolio continues to grow, ensuring strong current quality performance across the Energy Platform has become increasingly important to our overall business success and customer satisfaction.

To support this ambition, we are establishing a dedicated Energy Platform Current Quality organisation and are looking for an Energy Platform Central Quality Manager to become a key member of this team.

Aligned to the Energy Platform's "One Global Energy Platform Team" vision, this role will be strategically based within the JLR Hungary office, further strengthening our global operating model and cross functional collaboration.

This is not a traditional problem solving leadership role. Instead, the successful candidate will act as the central programme management and coordination focal point for Energy Platform Current Quality activities. The role will work across Battery, Charging, Power Electronics, Systems, Software, Engineering Quality, Company Quality, Service, Procurement, Manufacturing and STA teams to ensure quality priorities are addressed with the appropriate urgency, capability and governance to maximize the throughput of the teams.

The Energy Platform Central Quality Manager will play a pivotal role in improving customer quality performance, accelerating issue resolution, reducing warranty spend and ensuring effective coordination across all current quality activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establish and drive the Energy Platform Current Quality operating rhythm, ensuring clear visibility and governance of key quality performance metrics.

  • Prioritise Current Quality projects and ensure they are actively being worked on with utmost priority, based on customer impact, business risk and warranty exposure.

  • Partner with technical problem solving teams to drive project progress, remove obstacles and accelerate issue resolution.

  • Monitor and regularly report out Energy Platform quality KPIs including R/1000, A/1000, Cost per Unit, Warranty Spend, Critical Concerns and Technical Assistance metrics.

  • Lead the warranty mitigation workstream across all Energy Platform programmes to reduce overall warranty spend and customer impact.

  • Represent Energy Platform in discussions with Engineering Quality, Company Quality and wider business stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities and escalation topics.

  • Ensure timely engagement and support from Engineering, D&R, Systems, Software and other technical teams required to progress quality investigations.

  • Represent EP in Company Quality Nerve Centre to communicate key quality issues detected in Energy Platform Technical Nerve Centres following the launch of MLA, EMA and JEA BEV products.

  • Act as the central focal point for obstacle management, coordinating support from Service, Deployment, Procurement, STA, Finance, Facilities and other supporting functions.

  • Facilitate progression of software releases, iCreate actions, SUMS prioritisation activities and other service deployment actions.

  • Ensure regular and accurate progress updates from problem solving teams into IQM warranty projects and business governance reviews.

  • Secure resources required by problem solving teams, including engineering test vehicles, workshop access, battery teardown capability, PPE and specialist equipment where required.

  • Support continuous improvement of the Parts Returns Process to ensure effective failure investigation and root cause identification.

  • Own Prevent Reoccurrence AIMS management activities across the Energy Platform organisation.

  • Support PSCC investigations and safety and compliance related investigations when required.

  • Drive accountability, urgency and cross functional alignment to ensure customer impacting issues are resolved in the shortest possible timeframe.

  • Provide leadership visibility of key quality risks, project status, resource constraints and escalation needs across the Energy Platform portfolio.

  • Drive effective communication of quality priorities, emerging risks, lessons learnt and customer concerns back into Energy Platform teams.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

This role will become the central coordination hub for Energy Platform Current Quality activities. By connecting technical experts, problem solving teams and business stakeholders, the Energy Platform Central Quality Manager will ensure that customer impacting issues are prioritised, barriers are removed rapidly, and quality improvements are delivered at speed.

Ultimately, the role exists to improve customer experience, enhance product quality performance and reduce warranty costs across JLR's BEV, PHEV and MHEV portfolio.
