THE OPPORTUNITY

Longitudinal Software Functions is a cross-domain chapter within chassis engineering & part of the vehicle platform technical centre, responsible for the design, development & delivery of numerous vehicle motion control functions.

As the subject matter expert in vehicle state estimation for Roll Stability Control (RSC) you will play a key part in re-imagining & delivering improved RSC functionality brining it in line with the latest JLR & industry standards.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Working as part of the RSC software team & in collaboration with vehicle dynamics:
• Serve as technical authority for RSC vehicle state estimation.
• Design & implement of RSC vehicle state estimation.
• Lead continued development of vehicle state estimation for RSC with a view to greater integration with other controllers, supporting JLR movement toward holistic motion control.
• Support system level validation & calibration activities.
• Define & maintain best practice, methodologies & standards for vehicle state estimation.
• Ensure documentation of system design in line with JLR & Industry systems engineering best practice.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
• A thorough understanding of the basic principles of vehicle state estimation & how to translate this to appropriate control system design.
• Thorough understanding of vehicle dynamic behaviour.
• Thorough understanding of complex electrical & electronic control systems.
• Proven track record of delivering vehicle state estimation for similar projects.
• Use of Matlab/Simulink, C/C++ & python.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.
