THE OPPORTUNITY

 

Longitudinal Software Functions is a cross-domain chapter within chassis engineering & part of the vehicle platform technical centre, responsible for the design, development & delivery of numerous vehicle motion control functions.


As the system architect for Roll Stability Control (RSC) you will play a key part in re-imagining & delivering improved RSC functionality brining it in line with the latest JLR & industry standards.

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

 

  • Working closely with the RSC system owner, state estimation SME & in collaboration with vehicle dynamics:
  • Lead definition & maintenance of the system architecture for RSC, providing architectural oversight during software development, integration & validation.
  • Translate use cases, functional & non-functional requirements into logical/system architecture & interface design.
  • Lead control system integration, guiding through design decisions, trade-offs & implementation strategies.
  • Ensure modularity, scalability, & reusability of control system components across vehicle platforms & variants.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment between RSC system architecture & vehicle performance targets.
  • Support hazard analysis, safety concept development & technical safety requirement definition.
  • Ensure documentation of system design in line with JLR & Industry systems engineering best practice. (LAD/SAD, Interface definition, SRD, SSRD, etc)
  • Guide/coach other team members through the system engineering process to aid their development.


 
WHAT YOU WILL NEED

 

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • A thorough understanding of system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, system design modelling, system integration, system assessment & acceptance.
  • Thorough understanding of complex electrical & electronic control systems.
  • Proven track record of delivering complete systems of a similar scale in an automotive environment.
  • Thorough understanding of JLR & industry standard system engineering best practice.
  • Proven use of MBSE methodologies & tools (SysML/Simulink) to model system behaviour & interactions.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.
