JOB TITLE: System Design Engineer

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Lead the development of new features at the component and system level, including system architecture and requirements
• Work with internal, and external teams, ensuring the feature requirements are met
• Confidently and clearly present issues and proposed feasibility solutions, as well as provide status regularly to all stakeholder levels
• Support others in resolving key technical issues
• Develop and maintain DFMEA documentation in alignment with company and industry standards
• Contribute to the development of tools and methodologies used to improve the system design processes
• Use vehicle data analysis to drive improvements
• Create diagnostics and fail-safe techniques for new mechatronics as part of Powertrain

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• University degree
• Experience of requirements management in tools such as Dassault TRM or IBM DOORS
• Experience of automotive communication protocols, including at the implementation level
• Experience in the delivery, testing, and engineering, sign-off of embedded software, covering the entire development process
• Experience in the use of vehicle ECU communication tools, such as ETAS Inca/Canalyser
• Experience with system engineering approaches
• Strong analytical skills and techniques demonstrated in the resolution of complex software and system issues
• Have a solid understanding of vehicle architecture and system interfaces (e.g. LIN, FlexRay, etc.)
• A good electrical and software engineering background
• Experience of change management, working knowledge of problem resolution techniques (e.g. 8D) and experience of Quality tools including design FMEA’s.
