THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Systems Engineer you will support the design and development of propulsion related systems within a model-based systems engineering environment. You will work across logical design, system architecture, requirements development and issue resolution, contributing to the delivery of high-quality system features into JLR vehicle programmes.
This role is ideal for an engineer looking to deepen systems engineering expertise within a structured, highly technical team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop new features at the logical/system level, including architecture and requirements
- Populate and maintain Jira backlogs for assigned work packages
- Work with internal/external teams to ensure feature requirements are met
- Perform peer reviews of systems engineering artefacts
- Support tool/methodology development to improve SE processes
- Contribute to vehicle level investigations and provide clear technical updates
- Identify and raise key technical issues
- Use data analysis to support improvements
- Maintain and deliver technical artefacts into business systems (e.g., RTC)
- Liaise with integration teams to understand dependencies and SW integration plans
- Support system performance testing for assigned features
- Maintain awareness of legislation and standards relevant to the domain
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Essential:
- A positive and collaborative approach to work
- Experience or training in systems engineering principles
- Basic knowledge of SysML or MBSE concepts
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work methodically and collaboratively
Desirable:
- Experience in automotive systems
- Familiarity with Jira, RTC or systems engineering tools
- Awareness of functional safety, cyber security or ASPICE
- Understanding of vehicle networks (CAN / LIN / Ethernet)
