As a Senior Occupational Hygienist you’ll be joining a diverse and collaborative Health, Safety & Wellbeing team. In this role, you’ll support both our manufacturing facilities and innovative product development environments, giving you experience to the full breadth of occupational hygiene topics. You’ll work closely with internal clients providing expert advice at all stages of the project lifecycle. As a subject matter expert there will be opportunity to lead projects and influence technical standards and guidance.
This is a role which will allow you to make a positive impact on the business to drive the zero harm health and safety agenda forward.
This role will require weekly travel to other JLR sites therefore access to your own vehicle is a must.
WHAT TO EXPECT
In this role, no two days are the same. With lots of projects and relationships to build with people across the business and beyond, it’s a challenge that will help your career grow within an iconic organisation. Here’s what to expect:
- Provide operational support on occupational hygiene matters, including undertaking a range of workplace exposure monitoring programmes for substances hazardous to health, occupational noise, local exhaust ventilation (LEV), and hand–arm vibration (HAV)
- Produce clear, well written reports that summarise monitoring findings and provide practical recommendations to support safe working environments
- Support COSHH assessors by supplying relevant monitoring data, interpretations, and technical input
- Work with external authorities and regulatory bodies—such as ECHA, the HSE and the Environment Agency—under the supervision of the Senior Toxicologist/Occupational Hygiene lead
- Apply a strong understanding of applicable standards, legislation, and regulatory compliance in all occupational hygiene activities
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:
- Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene (CertOH)
- Experience working as an Occupational Hygienist and conducting workplace exposure assessments on a wide variety of Occupational Hygiene topics and industrial sectors
- Experience in the management and governance of Asbestos, Legionella and Radiation
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and produce high-quality technical reports with clear, practical recommendations
