WHAT TO EXPECT


As the Body in White (BIW) and Closures Manager you’ll lead and support the activities of the Engineering team in the development and delivery of all architecture, vehicle and design programmes within Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO).

 

In this role your key responsibilities are to lead the planning, deployment and measurement of BIW and Closures engineering resources, manage relationships effectively, develop and deliver effective global working practices to maximise efficiency and optimise outputs to meet or exceed programme targets, deliver architecture, style support and programme engineering, improving processes, and support with technology development plans including research, to deliver innovative, world class solutions to the satisfaction of our customers.

 

You’ll also provide optimal engineering feasibility solutions that deliver the chosen styling direction, maintaining the purity of the design vision whilst balancing within cost and manufacturing constraints, ensure consistent communication whilst working with and supporting colleagues to ensure the highest quality standards and delivery across all activities, lead the BIW and closures content within SVO and its suppliers, and coordinate engineering activities carried out by the suppliers and partners across Design/Development, Test/Validation and Manufacturing.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

As the BIW and Closures Manager you’ll have experience of leading vehicle BIW and Closures development programmes, a broad knowledge of vehicle engineering disciplines, the ability to deliver projects within budget and within the planned time ideally within metals and plastics, and with a high level of automotive technical knowledge and experience.

 

You’ll also have strong relationship building experience with stakeholders at all levels and the ability to lead individuals and teams to maximise performance and delver results.

 

Finally, you’ll hold a relevant degree or equivalent experience.
