As a Battery Build Technician here at JLR, you’ll work at our Lyons Park site within the Engineering Operations team. This is a supporting role providing steerage and leadership to the team of Prototype Battery Builders on the shopfloor. The area supports new build activity, rework of failed and modified units. The role will currently flex (and not be limited) between Stack, Pack and BEM builds as required.
The current hours for this role are 07:00am – 15:30pm.

- Champion a safe working environment, consistently promoting and adhering to Health & Safety best practices across all activities
- Actively participate in daily team briefs, sharing updates and promptly escalating any issues to the group leader
- Maintain high workplace standards by upholding 5S principles to support efficiency, organisation and quality
- Identify, raise and address issues quickly, ensuring timely resolution to minimise disruption to build activities
- Carry out manual handling tasks and provide support to material handlers whenever required to keep operations running smoothly
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:
- Previous experience working in a prototype, EV, or high voltage battery environment
- Familiarity with battery build processes, including Stack, Pack or module assembly
- Understanding of engineering drawings, schematics or technical documentation
- Experience working within a fast paced engineering or manufacturing setting
- Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to diagnose build issues and support corrective actions
