As a CNC Operations Skilled Associate here at JLR, you’ll provide machining solutions to primarily support dynamic model creation (Aerobucks, early assembly feasibility models, jigs, fixtures, soft press tooling).
The role is to program set and run 5 axis CNC machining centres and LFAM (Large format additive manufacturing machines), using a variety of different machine controls and NC software.

- Program, set, and operate 3–5 axis CNC machining centres to produce high quality components for dynamic models, fixtures, and tooling
- Create, modify, and prove out NC programs using both on line machine controls and off line NC programming software
- Set up and run large format additive manufacturing (LFAM) machines, ensuring accurate production of printed parts
- Diagnose and resolve machining or printing issues, working independently or as part of the team to deliver effective engineering solutions
- Maintain safe, efficient, and high standard workshop operations, performing additional tasks as required by the Modelshop Supervisor
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:
- Experience of setting and running a CNC machining centre
- Experience of setting and running additive manufacturing machines (3d printers)
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Experience of cutting a variety of materials, including polyurethane materials (model board).
- Understand basic measurement principles
- Experience of using NC programming software
