JOB TITLE: Driver Modes Controls Engineer
SALARY: £33,000 to £39,000

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

You will have the opportunity to work on industry leading in Automated Driving technologies within our Driver Modes department where we’re building a team of highly skilled engineers to develop self-driving control systems, specialising in terrain response.

 

As the Driver Modes Control Engineer, you’ll be part of a small and focused team working on design and development of model-based control strategies. This includes development and demonstration of new concepts and systems via desktop simulation and concept vehicles, as well as working with software engineers to update and improve existing systems and architectures. You’ll be expected to perform requirements analysis and decomposition, control strategy design, development and execution of the validation process and associated simulation environments. Working with a team of system and software engineers, including an offshore team, you’ll help deliver concept and production systems in a timely manner according to vehicle programme timing and local delivery milestones.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

You’ll have a proven track record of complex control system design and delivery combined with a thorough understanding of Control System design and development using the Mathworks toolchain (Matlab / Simulink / Stateflow) for real time applications. You’ll be experienced in control strategy development and delivery through all stages of the engineering development ‘V’ cycle, including understanding of system and software engineering principles. Prior automotive controls experience such as Chassis, Vehicle Dynamics, or Longitudinal Control is preferred, though strong candidates with relevant control system experience from other industries such as aerospace or rail will also be considered.

 

You’ll ideally possess a Degree in Electronics, Software, Automotive / Aerospace Engineering or similar subject, or equivalent industry experience.
