Dreaming for tomorrow is about more than ideas and ambitions. We’re already building the next generation of vehicles, using repurposed and brand-new technology and techniques. We’re doing more than dream, we’re creating the future of mobility and automotive for years to come.

Our vehicles are admired and desired across the world for luxurious design and outstanding engineering. Driving them is an incredible experience; being the ideas and expertise behind their creation is even more exhilarating. Being part of our Engineering and Manufacturing team you'll join this journey

The purpose of this role is to lead the EMC design reviews of new hardware developed for use in Jaguar Land Rover vehicles. This role requires the individual to work with hardware engineers early in the development programme to assure EMC best practice is designed into the product thus minimising design risks later in the product development cycle.

The role of the EMC Design Engineer will operate within the co-located Electrical and Vehicle Engineering organisation. The role will focus on providing electronics EMC design direction to Jaguar Land Rover teams involved with the development of vehicle level components and support wider design audit reviews with hardware teams.

The successful candidate will work across all functions within the Jaguar Land Rover product engineering function to ensure the best EMC design practice is maintained. The design engineer will also develop a series of design rules to support internal and external product development teams meet the EMC component requirements.

As the EMC Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing PCB simulation techniques to support in house development activities and support hardware circuit design reviews for EMC best practice. As this is a senior position within the business you will lead issue resolution activities with suppliers that struggle to meet EMC requirements and provide design recommendations to engineering teams to meet EMC requirements.

In this position, you'll need expert understanding of circuit design principles, EMC simulation tools, EMC fault finding and root cause analysis and PCB layout techniques to meet EMC requirements. You will have an appreciation of high and low power EMC design to support a range of product designs from electric vehicle components to low signal broadcast reception receivers. You will possess proven electronics hardware design experience and EMC knowledge; automotive experience is a benefit but not a must.

Ideally, you will also possess:

  • Electrical systems management and technical delivery experience
  • High power electronics design knowledge to support EV system development
  • Management, application, use of problem resolution, design verification, failure mode avoidance processes, FMEA, engineering release processes, checkpoint/gateway reporting.

Bring all this to the home of premium innovation, and you’ll find the opportunities to further your career with a world-class team, a discounted car purchase and lease scheme for you and your family, membership of a competitive pension plan and performance related bonus scheme. All this and more makes Jaguar Land Rover the perfect place to continue your journey. Jaguar Land Rover is committed to equal opportunity for all.
