In this role, you’ll lead and develop a talented audit team, delivering technology‑focused audits that span every corner of the organisation. You’ll be at the centre of insightful, forward‑thinking work—driving robust audit plans, supporting continuous improvement, and working closely with senior leaders and Board Directors to ensure clear, impactful follow‑through on agreed actions.

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality outcomes and supporting the wider team through a range of responsibilities, including – 

 

Audit

 

  • Lead Audit Planning: Shape and manage the planning of allocated audits, including preparing announcements, gathering key information, and scoping activity with senior stakeholders
  • Execute & Oversee Fieldwork: Drive audit delivery by allocating tasks, supporting hands‑on fieldwork, and ensuring work is completed to high standards and agreed timelines
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong, credible relationships with functional leaders, constructively challenge on risk and control matters, and lead regular updates to maintain momentum and transparency
  • Reporting & Issue Management: Produce clear, insightful audit reports, secure management buy‑in for findings, and provide pragmatic, value‑adding recommendations that drive real improvement

 

Digital

 

  • IT Audit Delivery: Lead and deliver audits across key IT risk areas, coordinating both internal specialists and external subject‑matter experts where required
  • Risk Intelligence: Stay ahead of emerging IT risks and developments, sharing insights with the wider Corporate Audit team to inform planning and decision‑making
  • Data Analytics Enablement: Maintain and provide key data analytics tools, supporting the uplift of digital capability across the team and embedding data‑driven auditing
  • Digital Strategy Leadership: Develop and drive the Corporate Audit Digital Strategy, ensuring digital priorities, tools and approaches remain aligned to wider organisational objectives

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

We’re looking for someone with the right blend of experience, qualifications, and practical skills, including – 

 

  • Proven manager‑level experience, with the ability to lead teams, oversee complex workstreams, and guide specialist colleagues effectively
  • A strong background in IT audit or significant experience working within IT functions, digital environments, or technology‑focused teams
  • Hands‑on audit delivery experience, ideally covering planning, fieldwork, reporting, and stakeholder engagement within internal or external audit settings
  • Robust capability in assessing risk, with confidence in identifying, evaluating, and challenging IT, digital and data‑related risks across a large organisation
  • Demonstrated experience using data and analytics to support audit delivery, including interpreting insights and assessing data quality
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility, challenge constructively, and work effectively with senior stakeholders
