As an Instrumentation Build Engineer here, you’ll play a hands‑on role in shaping the future of our prototype vehicles. You’ll oversee the installation of measurement systems that help our engineering teams validate performance, refine ideas and push boundaries across every JLR brand.

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

In this role, no two tasks are the same. You’ll collaborate with talented technicians, engineers and specialists, all working together to bring Modern Luxury to life. Here’s what to expect:

 

  • Oversee the installation of instrumentation and measurement systems on prototype vehicles, ensuring accurate and reliable data capture
  • Apply measurement solutions across vehicles, rigs and components, using best‑practice techniques for temperature, pressure, flow, displacement, voltage and current
  • Configure measurement systems and signal conditioning, ensuring the right excitation, filtering and sample rates
  • Support workshop teams, coordinate instrumentation job cards and ensure installations are delivered to a high standard
  • Work with engineering customers to solve problems, explore measurement options and support prototype build planning across multiple sites

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED


Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that will help you succeed here, including:

 

  • Experience in data acquisition and data‑logging sensors, including ETAS, Vector or Intrepid tools
  • Knowledge of vehicle networks such as CAN, LIN, FlexRay or Ethernet
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative team
  • Some experience with data acquisition software and test data presentation
  • A growth mindset, with the confidence to learn, improve and grow in a fast‑moving environment
