As a Process Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of powertrain manufacturing—guiding critical components from concept through to production readiness. WHAT TO EXPECT

 

In this role, you’ll be carrying out the follow day to day tasks:

 

  • Lead the development and implementation of machining processes, including tooling, jigs, fixtures, and gauging, ensuring alignment with Lean Manufacturing, Design for Manufacture (DFM), and Integrated Production System (IPS) principles
  • Own end-to-end process planning and documentation, from feasibility assessments to quality planning, ensuring robust, repeatable, and capable manufacturing solutions
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration, engaging with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and programme teams to manage technical issues, support builds, and deliver on timing plans
  • Manage supplier selection and vendor relationships, ensuring delivery of high-quality, cost-effective manufacturing solutions
  • Ensure process capability and dimensional control, applying advanced quality and measurement techniques to meet product and manufacturing requirements
  • Support launch and product change activities, including simulation events, physical builds, and issue resolution at manufacturing sites (ICE & EV)
  • Represent Manufacturing Engineering in programme forums, contributing to strategy, technical reviews, and departmental responses to product changes

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

 

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:

 

  • A technical background in manufacturing engineering, with hands-on experience in high-precision machining processes such as grinding, milling, drilling, reaming, boring, and heat treatment
  • The ability to plan, develop, and implement manufacturing processes and tooling solutions, with a focus on quality and efficiency
  • Experience in managing complex machine tool procurement and integration, including automation, assembly, test cells, and wash systems
  • Working knowledge of CNC/CMM/robot programming and controls is highly desirable, supporting greater levels of process automation and self-sufficiency
  • Familiarity with key manufacturing systems and methodologies, including CAD, PCDS, APQP, AIMS, Lean Manufacturing, and IPS
  • Project and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to create and execute detailed action plans and support product development phases
  • Relevant qualifications in Manufacturing or Engineering disciplines (e.g. Degree, HND, HNC) are preferred, along with a flexible and proactive approach to responsibilities and working hours.
