The role will be based within the Digital Product Platform (DPP) Technology Area and based within the System Engineering Team focusing on the Assisted and Automated Driving (AAD) Systems.

AAD Systems Team are responsible for delivering the Customer Products and the end-to-end systems that are shaping JLR’s automated driving future, working with industry leading partners, to develop cutting-edge solutions that will make our customers live simpler and safer, in a new era of modern luxury.

This role will play a pivotal part in defining, designing and integrating the systems and solutions that underpin the AAD Product Portfolio. The ideal candidate will be able to see ‘the big picture’ and apply systems thinking to integrate a system design that meets demanding customer and regulatory requirements, while ensuring simplicity and harmonization.  The systems that you will integrate are the most complex and highly distributed within the automotive industry. They are safety critical and user centric - all on the backdrop of one the fastest moving technology areas in the world.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Driving the integration of new technologies through application of systems thinking and systems engineering principles, ensuring end-to-end system and hardware/software compatibility for the next generation of Driver Assistance and Automation systems, contributing to the comprehensive system and architecture-level strategy.
  • Lead the definition of a holistic configurations management and system integration strategy, working with the System Design, System Architecture teams to ensure that our systems are designed for integration and the System Validation team to ensure systems are integrated to support test execution.
  • Define and own the AAD System Integration processes and methodologies, working with multiple Hardware, Software and Vehicle integration teams to align and optimize System Integration activities. 
  • Lead the development and execution of integration test plans to ensure that all system elements, work seamlessly as an integrated system.

What you will need


  • Extensive knowledge System Engineering process and its use in the design and delivery process
  • Relevant experience of working in a Systems Engineering or Vehicle / Systems / Software integrations roles
  • Relevant experience in the integration, validation and delivery of complex, distributed, safety critical systems
  • Knowledge of Automotive Networks and software, including instrumentation and logging techniques


  • Project Management experience
  • Six Sigma knowledge and Techniques
  • Familiarity with Driver Assistance Systems or associated technology (Computer Vision, Image process, Perception, Machine learning, Path planning, Sensor-Fusion, Vehicle Dynamics and Control, Actuators
  • Hold a formal qualification such as degree within, Systems Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science or another relevant subject.
