The Opportunity


To design and produce Bodyshop training content to the very highest standards, in-line with JLR training accreditation methodology – ‘active learning’. To then ensure the training is rolled out, monitored and JLR Body Training Mandates achieved by supporting the regional and market Training Managers.


The role is both a development and capability role with the initial focus on development. Over time this may change to more of a focus on Capability with the eventual split being 60% Capability and 40% development.


Key Performance Indicators


  • Feedback on quality of training assets obtaining a feedback score identified by Network Excellence
  • Delivering Training Assets on time VRs Project Planner.
  • To drive the implementation of Bodyshop Training within the region to meet the JLR Body Training Mandates.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities




  • To develop, design and create Bodyshop training materials that support Learner Journey outcomes of Mechanical, Electrical and Trim, Refinish and Panel activities.
  • To design theory and practical activities to simplify and convey modern vehicle technologies.
  • To develop relevant classroom and practical activities that engage participants delivering ‘back to work’ messages.
  • Utilise CAD data and software tools to create graphics/animations to support subject matter.
  • Ensure material meets market requirement to source appropriate central funding.
  • To pilot training modules that support learner journey objectives and training deliverables.
  • To coordinate, maintain and close training projects, escalating issues as required.
  • To support project development calendar and status reviews with stakeholders at agreed milestones.
  • Ensure quality and relevance of content is achieved and supports Learner Journey outcomes.
  • Engage with JLR Product Development and Engineering and other personnel to research and source data/information as required.
  • Provide support to new team members.


Regional Body Training Support:


  • Support the Region to achieve JLR’s Body Shop Training Mandates.
  • Coordinate with the regional and market Training Managers to produce and track against a plan that supports the achievement of the Bodyshop Training Mandates.
  • Development and implementation of effective reporting on key training metrics:
  • Trainer utilisation
  • Individual learner progression
  • Job role progression
  • Retailer progression
  • Trainer capability/accreditation
  • Act as a consultant and provide guidance to the region and market training managers to grow Body training.
  • Ensure training is being delivered as per the course guidelines for Panel, Refinish and MET by observing training delivery.
  • Ensure facilities being used meet JLR requirements, the business case justifies the need for the facility and a sign off process is in place...
  • Primary contact for all Body and Refinish business partners across the Region

Knowledge, Skills and Experience




  • Have a strong ‘Customer First’ ethic
  • Competent in MS software packages.
  • Experience with structured authoring tools/XML in a development environment
  • Have JLR business awareness (products, technologies, teams, etc)
  • Bodyshop Industry “Panel” Subject Matter Expert
  • Good awareness of JLR retailer business objectives
  • Knowledgeable in Global Bodyshop service competencies to meet central funding
  • Knowledgeable in L&D methodologies towards young learners
  • Be a cross functional team player.
  • High level of Business Acumen/ Familiarity with Business Metrics
  • Project Management and Coordination.
