What To Expect

 

The Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division presents the opportunity to design and develop world-class SV-branded Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles which amplify key characteristics including performance, luxury and capability.

 

The successful candidate will lead the design, development, testing and introduction of new Suspension System Architecture (SSA) systems and commodities. This is inclusive of suspension links, knuckles, frames, mounting and surrounding underbody structural components. The role requires the individual to deliver the commodity plan to quality, cost and time and lead on the technical content and integrity of specific components and systems across specific SVO programmes.

 

You will lead and develop the SSA component design and delivery within SVO Chassis, including the investigation of new technology and suppliers. You will also deliver commodity plans and deliver the Engineering Advanced Product Quality Planning deliverables, as well as having the opportunity to provide input into new feature development and will identify and deliver efficiency improvements.

 

You will resolve issues with component engineering and vehicle attribute teams to develop designs that meet targets. In addition to this, you will also manage DV and PV test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages through to sign off.

 

What you'll need

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

You will have a proven technical knowledge and will have automotive engineering experience of the design and development of suspension system hardware, particularly knuckle, links and subframes. You will have previous experience of managing resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment.

 

In addition to this, you will have a good working knowledge of product creation, product delivery, change control, product definition and change management processes. You will have a proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and communicate at all levels.

 

You will have a strong understanding of how the suspension architecture influences the vehicles dynamic behaviour, delivers the vehicle level targets, and how this is distilled to a system/component level.

 

Desirable:

  • Capability in using Virtual Engineering tools such as Teamcenter, Enovia, CATIA V5 & CATIA V6

  • Knowledge of component manufacturing techniques

  • Knowledge of component design for high performance applications

 

 

This role may offer the opportunity for hybrid working where you can split your time between working from home and in the office.
