We are on an exciting journey to increase our agility and responsiveness, using tried and tested Agile practices in the delivery of our products and services. We have embraced it at scale within engineering Agile projects, as part of the ReFocus Transformation Programme, and it is within this framework that we are looking to recruit Agile Coaches.


As an agile coach you will partner with the Lead agile coaches to support key areas of the Product Delivery value chain with their agile transformation. You will coach at a group/squad level around agile principles, ways of working, mindset, and behaviours – agile principles over and above specific Agile methods. 


You will also be responsible for:


  • Be embedded as an Agile coach within key domains, working with them and supporting the squad level agile coaches throughout Agile adoption phase. 
  • Deliver Agile team onboarding and training, including wave mobilisation sessions and our in-house product owner and scrum master training programmes
  • Support the team on key Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Dailies, Retrospectives, 
  • Define and agree with the squad coaches a coaching plan that notably includes 1:1 with POs and SMs and team coaching sessions, to help them understand their roles and related practices, tools, and methods
  • Support the rollout of Key Adoption and Competency metrics to support agile adoption and maturity
  • Partner with the Product Owner and Scrum Master Communities of Practices to improve and enhance JLR’s agile scale approach, tools, and methods
  • Ensure Squads adhere to the evolving company operating model and guidelines
  • Helping to support facilitation of big room planning sessions and related activities
  • Support dynamic reporting process to ensure any impediments are removed to aid maturity

What you'll need

Knowledge of advanced enterprise Agile methods (E.g., LeSS, Nexus, Scum@Scale, SAFe…) and tools (Jira, Jira portfolio) alongside strong verbal and writing skills, presentation skills and ability to motivate teams in Agile ways of working. 

 Experience as an Agile Coaching / Agile transformation role 



  • In depth Scrum Master experience
  • Demonstrable Agile Delivery of several Projects / Products.
  • Stakeholder Management 
  • Experience of Change Management and effectively managing teams through change
  • Supporting teams to run User Story Workshops and helping teams with prioritisation techniques.
  • Experience of working with distributed teams (outsourced, remote site)
  • Ability to show leadership in addressing required team level cultural change.
  • Experience using Agile tools such as JIRA/Portfolio for JIRA.
  • Background and interest in software / electronic engineering, product development.
  • Able to help teams increase transparency as well as helping leaders increase psychological safety within the team
  • We expect the person in this role to have done it and lived it before they teach it
  • Facilitation skills to deliver SME training programmes

This role may offer the opportunity for hybrid working where you can split your time between working from home and in the office.
