As a Chapter Lead, you will to take on the leadership of the Closures CAE chapter which covers the closure static/durability and NVH load cases and the Lids bonnet head impact pedestrian load case.
You will lead a team of CAE Engineers to deliver the off-cycle ambition, the on-cycle programme delivery, all elements of resource planning and fulfilment, people and skill development as well as process efficiencies.

- Lead a team of Closure CAE engineers in Durability, NVH and Safety (Pedestrian Head Impact) to develop vehicle and body systems, and body components, including establishing individual and team objectives and project assignments, in both on-cycle and off-cycle
- Understand and optimise the analysis that the Closure Systems CAE Chapter is responsible for (DVP)
- Develop the skills (hard and soft) of Chapter members so that current and future demands can be met
- Develop the organisation structure of the Closure Systems CAE Chapter to maximise its output and efficiencies
- Working with Structural Integration & Analysis, lead the development of CAE tools and techniques which enhance capability, improve quality and reduce time
- Support team members to use CAE methods to identify means to develop cost and weight efficient vehicle and body systems, and body component designs that meet performance targets
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:
- Good design and development process knowledge and delivery experience is essential, including experience of vehicle and body component testing specific to group
- Development of vehicle and body system, and body component designs using FE analysis, optimisation methods, and own engineering judgement
- Extensive experience working in CAE, demonstrating full knowledge of attribute specific engineering and software skills, and understanding of the performance conflicts that can arise between Durability, NVH and Dynamics, and Safety requirements
- Planning, control and technical support of CAE team members or experience in people management in a technical discipline
- Strong interpersonal/communication skills, including ability to manage, lead and support relationships and communicate effectively at all levels
- Ability to work with a range of engineering functions is essential, including co-ordination of processes with other design and analysis areas
