JOB TITLE: 3D Model Production Manager
SALARY: £56,700 - £80,000

The Model Production Team within the DAG is a technical production team across Product and Brand focusses, responsible for the creation of 150% 3D visualisation models (Product Data Models - PDMs) for all core JLR programmes and SV products as determined by the business programme cycle plan. Available for the consumption and support of consuming internal and external creative teams.

As the manager of the Model Production Team, you will be responsible for the full scope of activities undertaken by the team, working in close alignment with the internal PMO and Infrastructure teams and management. Maintaining and nurturing all key stakeholder and customer relationships and contributing to the overall strategic development and delivery of the department.

The manager will be required to continually direct their team in developing our model production pipeline, capabilities and toolsets, aligned to wider core business, functional and departmental transformation and strategic imperatives. Driving positive change across our activities, ensuring maximised operational effectiveness and efficiency, and a first-class service and experience for our customers and stakeholders.





Take ownership for Digital Assets Model Production strategy and growth

Lead the development of Model Production in the context of the wider JLR CGI process

Liaise with appropriate business stakeholders on maintaining and developing Digital Assets Model Production business case

Lead business integration activities to ensure Model Production is fully aligned with latest JLR processes, tools and technologies

Understand team infrastructure requirements and ensure workspace and tools are fit-for-purpose with the assistance of the infrastructure team

Manage interactions with supplier partners providing purchased services to support model production activities; manage all commercial interactions regarding Service Level Agreement creation and maintenance, rate determination and agreement and supplier performance management

Manage multiple stakeholders, ensuring maximum alignment across all functions on all programmes

Collaborate with the Digital Assets Development Team to develop lean processes for model delivery through the introduction of automated methods

Manage model library and distribution mechanism

Guide and mentor team members in personal and technical development

Take ownership for the Digital Assets Model Production budget and manage spend on purchased services, hardware and software

Plan and organise team resourcing and organisational structure according to the business need

Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time




  • Extensive experience working in a CGI production environment

  • Previous experience managing and developing a team; Excellent team leadership capabilities

  • Ability to motivate a team of highly skilled production artists and to develop their career progression in line with individual aspirations and company needs

  • Expert in CGI model production processes (Data Preparation, modelling, configuration, C&M)

  • Experience managing suppliers and commercial relations

  • Experience managing a budget and effectively scoping and tracking costing of production activities

  • Qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline
