WHAT TO EXPECT:
Join our cutting-edge Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) team and help shape the future of premium automotive technology. As an EDS Components Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of critical electrical components, ensuring excellence across performance, quality, and innovation.

- Lead the end to end development and delivery of EDS components, ensuring alignment with targets for cost, weight, quality, and functional performance
- Define and manage technical requirements, commodity strategies, and component plans in line with programme direction and delivery milestones
- Collaborate with global engineering teams and key suppliers to ensure robust design, validation, and integration of components
- Support pre-production builds and resolve manufacturing issues to ensure seamless launch and production readiness
- Ensure compliance with JLR standards, legal regulations, and design verification processes throughout the product lifecycleDrive continuous improvement through innovative design strategies, process enhancements, and technical coaching
- Maintain accurate documentation including design analysis, DFMEA, component requirements and process sheets to support engineering governance

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:

- Strong technical expertise in EDS component development including connectors, cables, clips, harness coverings, and associated design and problem-solving tools (e.g. DFMEA, 8D, Ishikawa)
- Proven experience in developing technical requirements, test plans, and delivering components through structured engineering processes (e.g. PCDS)
- Project delivery background in automotive or manufacturing environments, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams, suppliers and meet programme milestones
- Effective stakeholder management (internal and external) with excellent communication skills across all levels of the business
- Strategic and self-driven mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and commodity development
- Proficient in key software tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and adaptable to systems like WERS, AIMS, RMDV/IBM DOORS, JIRA (training available)
- Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience preferred
