WHAT TO EXPECT

 

This role is within the Assisted & Automated Driving (AAD) vehicle validation team, part of Electrical Engineering. The role will focus on forecasting, procuring and managing a fleet of vehicles for all AAD vehicle-based activities which includes those based at suppliers.

 

The main activity is to take ownership of a vehicle platform AAD Fleet by forecasting and procure vehicles for AAD development and validation, manage the fleet to keep them updated with any outstanding reworks (RIS), lead issue resolutions and move vehicles around the world.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

 

In this role you will be responsible for creating and keeping up to date vehicle plans along with forecasting vehicle requirements by creating vehicle synthetics for all AAD activities. Part of this role will see you procuring vehicles for AAD activities by liaising with both internal and external vehicle engineering teams.

 

You will be managing a fleet of ADAS cars, ensuring the wellbeing of these vehicles with regards breakdown and resolution, you’ll assist in coordinating the use of the vehicles, ensuring the development and test on-site at Jaguar Landrover facilities are efficiently used.

 

The successful candidate will be need to ensure that all requests are fulfilled; e.g. requests for use of a vehicles. You’ll also be liaising with other engineers who help coordinate fleets, vehicle suppliers, as well as supporting own test team in terms of vehicle requests and preparation.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

Essential:

  • The ability to validate, prepare and read engineering documents and timing plans

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements, Risk Assessment, COSHH and SDS

  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office competency to produce plans, presentations, graphs, process and Single Point Lesson (SPL) documents.

 

Desirable:

  • Six Sigma, Black Belt and Green Belt Training and certification.

  • A full UK driving license (or EU equivalent) with less than 6 penalty points, no disqualification, 2 years accident free record

  • Knowledge of ADAS features and dependencies on vehicle specification (hardware)
