WHAT TO EXPECT
The IDT (Information Digital Technology) Operations Director is a business-critical transformation role within JLR’s Digital team, owning the modernisation and transformation journey for JLR’s technology estate, in order to realise an incredible modern luxury experience.
THE ROLE
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain and run Data Centre facilities and operations
- Provide management capability until appropriate decommission and sunset
- Provide and manage onsite networking and connectivity technology
- Deliver network engineering expertise and standards
- Lead teams which provide engineering and project management skills for network maintenance
- Provide Service Introduction, Delivery, Assurance and Monitoring
- Provide major incident management capability escalations and drive root-cause analysis
- Oversee all IT change management requirements
- Define, provide and support tools required by end users
- Provide technical support for all end users for IDT workplace components
- Deliver call centre engineering and provide service desk activities
- Oversee the support service for existing applications whilst rationalising legacy estate
- Oversee all Cloud Operations activity
- Oversee critical technical platforms including AD, VDI, JPC
- Property IT
- Manages critical initiatives include GDPR, SOX, BCP, DR, Demand Planning, Performance
Key Performance Indicators
- % of DCH as part of Technology estate
- Total adoption of collaboration and knowledge-sharing tools
- Total number of major incidents averted/ resolved
Key Interactions
- Cybersecurity: coordinate cyber incident management and resolution with overarching incident management and service assurance approach
- Delivery Management: raise awareness of incidents as part of project management approach
- Product Management: alignment with Product Managers on consistent approach and ways of working as part of the product management chapter
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Industry experience within organisations that both manufacture and retail (either D2C or B2B)
- Technical expertise in incident management and resolution
- Ability to appropriate triage and escalate requests, based on importance
- Understand the technical estate including Cloud
- Technical expertise in DCH and Network engineering and solutions
- Understanding of best-practice tools for productivity, collaboration and knowledge-sharing
