Stay at the forefront of innovation, and use cutting-edge technology to reimagine the future of modern luxury – be a proud creator of the exceptional.
Come and join JLR as a Lead AI Governance Specialist!
As JLR continues to harness the potential of Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI to drive innovation and efficiency, the importance of strong AI governance is growing rapidly. While these technologies offer significant benefits—from enhancing business performance to transforming customer experiences—they also bring complex risks, including data privacy concerns, algorithmic bias, and regulatory challenges.
We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Lead AI Governance Specialist to support the development and implementation of JLR’s AI governance strategy. This is a key role in ensuring our AI systems are ethical, transparent, and compliant with emerging global regulations, including the EU AI Act and other international frameworks.
You will play a central part in evolving our governance processes, embedding responsible AI practices across the organisation, and raising awareness of compliance and ethical standards. This is a unique opportunity to shape how JLR approaches AI, ensuring we remain innovative while meeting our legal and ethical obligations.
WHAT TO EXPECT
In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality outcomes and supporting the wider team through a range of responsibilities, including –
- Develop and maintain internal policies, standards, and procedures to guide the responsible development, deployment, and use of AI technologies across JLR
- Ensure organisational compliance with global AI regulations, including the EU AI Act and other relevant legal and ethical frameworks, by embedding regulatory requirements into governance practices
- Design and implement monitoring mechanisms to track AI system safety, assess compliance status, and identify potential ethical or operational risks throughout the AI lifecycle
- Support the identification, reporting, and oversight of enterprise-level AI risks, working closely with risk, compliance, and technical teams to ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are in place
- Create and deliver engaging AI governance resources and training programmes to raise awareness, build capability, and embed a culture of responsible AI use across the business
- Stay informed of evolving industry best practices, standards, and regulatory developments to ensure JLR’s AI governance remains current, effective, and forward-looking
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
The ideal candidate will have a strong mix of experience, recognised training, and capabilities such as –
- Extensive knowledge of AI models and systems, including their development, deployment, and practical application
- Experience in compliance, risk, or governance roles, particularly within AI, data, or other emerging technologies
- Proven ability to implement governance frameworks and apply them effectively across complex environments
- Strong understanding of AI model monitoring techniques and risk identification
- A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred
- Able to work independently and proactively, taking full ownership of tasks and delivering high-quality outcomes
- A collaborative mindset, with a strong awareness of team dynamics and wider organisational goals
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences
- Confident in influencing and engaging stakeholders to support governance initiatives and drive alignment
Creating Modern Luxury requires a modern approach to work. At JLR, hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement providing employees more choice and flexibility around how, when and where they work. Some roles require more on-site work, but details of this can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview stage.
We work hard to nurture a culture that is inclusive and welcoming to all. We understand candidates may require reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process. Please discuss these with your recruiter so we can accommodate your needs.
Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome. If you’re unsure that you meet the full criteria of a role – but you're interested in where it could take you – we still encourage you to apply. We believe in people's ability to grow and develop within their role – it’s what makes living the exceptional with soul possible.
JLR is committed to equal opportunity for all.
