As a Lead Controls Engineer at JLR, you’ll be part of the Chassis Motion Control team within our Vehicle Platform department, helping shape the future of our off‑road capability across every vehicle line. You’ll work with pioneering technology, contribute to Modern Luxury experiences, and play a key role in redefining what exceptional feels like for our clients and our planet.
As a Lead Controls Engineer here, you’ll develop and enhance off‑road features using model‑based development, working hands‑on with vehicles and HIL rigs. It’s a chance to channel your curiosity, push boundaries and craft your skills alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry. WHAT TO EXPECT
In this role, no two days are the same. You’ll work across multiple vehicle lines, collaborate with engineers across JLR, and help shape the next generation of off‑road capability. Here’s what to expect:
- Develop and refine off‑road control features using Matlab and Simulink, ensuring they meet our technical and quality standards
- Work hands‑on with vehicles and HIL rigs to validate and verify feature performance
- Apply ISO26262 and ASPICE processes to ensure safe, robust and compliant software delivery
- Use tools such as Polyspace and MathWorks TRM to analyse, test and improve embedded software
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance feature performance and support continuous improvement
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills you’ll need to help you succeed here, including:
- Strong experience with Matlab and Simulink, ideally within model‑based development environments
- Background in embedded software deployment and working to recognised software quality standards
- Experience with ISO26262, ASPICE or similar automotive software frameworks
- Hands‑on experience validating features on vehicles or HIL rigs
- Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to analyse data and improve feature performance
