Join JLR as a Lead Data Analyst!

Are you an accomplished Lead Data Analyst ready to make a significant impact? We are looking for someone like you to join our team! As a pivotal member of the Body Chassis Engineering (BCE) team, you will be part of the Data Analytics Chapter, which empowers engineers to make data-driven decisions. Our mission is to provide accessible, reliable data and deliver insightful analytics across the organisation. By leveraging data from Fleet and Customer vehicles, we support improvements to Body/Chassis features and systems, ensuring an exceptional experience for JLR’s customers.

In this role, you will collaborate with engineering teams in BCE to understand their key questions and identify problems that can be solved using advanced analytics, machine learning, or process automation. You will identify, analyse, and interpret trends in complex data sets, using modelling techniques to generate insights into our systems and how customers operate their vehicles. As a key member of the Chapter, you’ll lead the development of new methods and tools, promote best practices, and drive continuous improvement.

WHAT TO EXPECT

• Understand data requirements of stakeholders, including problem scoping
• Use statistical techniques to deliver robust and accurate results, considering variable data quality, and clearly communicate conclusions and insights to stakeholders
• Create data visualisations and dashboards utilising tools such as Tableau
• Ensure customer privacy is protected at every stage of data analysis
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and the continual improvement of the team’s technical capabilities, and collaborate with the wider JLR data community to ensure the team works with the latest technology, techniques and best practices
• Work within the Squad’s Agile Framework and working process
• Support the Chapter Lead in coaching the analytics team and in developing basic capability across the whole BCE organisation

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Extensive experience in Data Engineering, Analysis or Science and/or within in an Engineering field, particularly Automative
• Practical application of SQL or Python, with knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as GCP or AWS
• Excellent level of ability to structure, analyse and interpret data
• Good understanding of data visualisation principles, with experience of using tools such as Tableau, Looker, Power BI
• Understanding of advanced analytics techniques (statistical analysis/modelling, experiment design, optimisation)
• Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, and motivated to train and develop others
