In this exciting role as Lead Project engineer, you will operate in the Digital space within GME-Stamping to lead the implementation & delivery of the digitalisation roadmap, with a focus on maintaining and developing our strategy.


You’ll be responsible for driving the delivery of the already established digital roadmap using current business digital tools within JLR, streamlining, and automating business workflows driving Effectiveness and Efficiency in everything we do as a technology group. 


Stakeholder management is pivotal for this role as you will often partner with customers to articulate the “What” and “Why” that drives our roadmap priorities and how you will collectively measure success over time.


WHAT TO EXPECT


Your key focus in this role will be working on the systems, processes and environments that help Stamping deliver their KPIs more efficiently.


While based within the GME Stamping team, the role will also touch our AoE Off-cycle activities working across the GME technologies to drive best practice and ultimately be responsible for driving them back into GME-S, there will be limited interaction of digitalisation activities across our global press shop locations, but any work will be driven through our Technology Forum events.

•    Engaging with key stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities through the introduction of digital solutions
•    Ownership of the Digitalisation IBP and delivery of the Roadmap
•    Maintain the Digitalisation Roadmap, prioritising project delivery in line with Stakeholder requirements and resource availability
•    Development of detailed proposals, concept creations, delivery planning and business cases as appropriate.  regularly reviewing and refining with the key stakeholders
•    Coordinate the development of prototype systems along with test plans and interpretation of the testing outcome 
•    Coordinate cross functional teams in the planning & delivery of agreed projects 
•    Tracking and reporting of progress against agreed deliverables & KPI’s

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 


Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including: 


•    Strong project management capabilities with excellent execution skills and the ability to multitask
•    Experience of multiple digital tools, inclusive of tool sets such as Power apps, etc.
•    Experience in Digital focused project delivery
•    Extensive experience within the manufacturing industry – preferably with a stamping background
•    Knowledge and understanding of the end-to-end Stamping process
•    Experience in the application of Digital systems and a logical approach to problem solving
•    Ability to work independently and proactively, taking full ownership and responsibility for your own work; fully invested in achieving a successful result
