Come and join JLR as a Lead Vehicle Attribute Integration Engineer – Strategy & Delivery, where you’ll play a key role in shaping how our vehicles feel, perform and delight customers. This is an opportunity to sit at the heart of vehicle development, influencing the attributes that define the JLR driving experience across both current and future programmes.

 

In this role, you’ll lead the integration of customer attributes from early concept through to J1, working closely within our SV and Core Attribute teams to ensure targets are aligned with programme content. You’ll help set clear, compelling attribute targets through competitive assessments, benchmarking, then guide their delivery through robust panel chart and programme management.

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality outcomes and supporting the wider team through a range of responsibilities, including – 

 

  • Lead competitor and comparator attribute benchmarking and futuring activity, including physical and virtual testing, measurement and visual assessments, and co‑ordinate benchmark vehicle requests, hires and purchases
  • Plan and manage all benchmarking vehicle activity, working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely and effective delivery
  • Co‑ordinate attribute inputs into vehicle character definition, System target documentation, working in collaboration with our Product Character team, system and component teams to define and maintain cascaded targets that support overall vehicle objectives including RMDV and DOORs where required
  • Establish and manage Attribute Panel Charts, co‑ordinate inputs from wider attribute teams, and report programme attribute status in line with gateway cadence, driving and tracking attribute RMDV and DOORs classification, target setting and validation
  • Act as the initial Attribute representative for technical reviews, supporting early discussions on attribute trades, technical issues and escalation throughout the programme lifecycle from pre‑KO through to FEC
  • Support programme attribute teams to ensure technical issues are identified, resolved and robustly managed, including co‑ordination of programme sign‑off drives with vehicle engineering counterparts to demonstrate and confirm attribute delivery
  • Capture, co‑ordinate and feedback attribute lessons learned from current vehicles, ensuring insights are progressed and embedded into future programmes

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

We’re looking for someone with the right blend of experience, qualifications, and practical skills, including – 

 

  • Applicants should be educated to Degree level or be able to show a track record of relevant experience for the job
  • Previous experience of problem-solving tools e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 8 Disciplines of problem solving
  • Design of Experiments and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) in Manufacturing
  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience in working with customer facing attribute delivery
  • Experience of PCDS and all engineering planning and delivery processes is essential i.e. RMDV, Virtual Series
  • Ability to negotiate with other functions to achieve objectives
  • Good leadership and influencing skills
  • The ability to manage complex technical issues is essential to balance the often-conflicting needs of the business, within project timing constraints
