As an experienced Employment Solicitor within JLR's global in-house legal team, you'll provide commercially astute advice and direction on a on a variety of employment and HR related matters. This 12-month fixed-term opportunity offers exposure to complex employment legal matters, giving you the chance to flourish while working as part of a cross functional team.  

 

This role is based in Gaydon but supports a hybrid working structure. Occasional local or national travel may be required to support the role. 

 

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

Join a collaborative legal team that supports the future of Modern Luxury through trusted, commercial legal guidance. Working closely with HR, the wider legal team and   business leaders, you'll play an important role in managing employment risk, supporting constructive relationships and helping JLR navigate complex people matters with confidence and clarity. Here's what to expect:

 

  • Providing commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of employment law matters, helping the business understand legal implications and achieve its objectives
  • Advising on trade union, industrial relations and collective employment matters, supporting positive and productive stakeholder relationships
  • Attending and supporting negotiations and employee relations forums across the organisation
  • Developing pragmatic and legally compliant solutions to complex employee matters through sound judgement and lateral thinking
  • Collaborating with colleagues across HR, legal and the wider business, challenging constructively where needed to deliver the best outcomes

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills and experiences that you'll need to help you succeed here, including:

 

  • Being a qualified solicitor with the right to practise in England and Wales
  • Extensive  experience advising on employment law matters, particularly trade union relations, collective employment law and collective consultation exercises
  • Able to advise on employment legislation within complex organisational environments
  • Able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness, identifying legal and business risks while providing practical, solution-focused advice
  • Strong ability to communicate complex legal information simply, clearly and confidently to stakeholders at all levels, while managing a varied workload effectively

 

It would also be advantageous to have experience within manufacturing, automotive or engineering environments, particularly in organisations with recognised trade unions.
