Joining the Legal and Compliance function at JLR means becoming part of a team that plays a vital role in shaping the exceptional vehicles across our four House of Brands. We are a dynamic, collaborative legal team working across the entire organisation on a broad range of legal and compliance matters.

 

This role offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our in‑house legal team and partner with our commercial colleagues on a diverse mix of sales and marketing activities. It’s a chance to develop your expertise while contributing to high‑impact work at the heart of our business.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

In this role, no two tasks are the same. With lots of projects and relationships to build with people across the business and beyond, it’s a challenge that will help your career grow within an iconic organisation. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

 

  • Advise, draft, and negotiate on a wide range of commercial matters, including vehicle sales and distribution, fleet and leasing arrangements, parts and accessories, warranties, advertising, marketing and promotions, sponsorships, partnerships, and consumer protection
  • Manage a busy and varied workload while also contributing to the effective oversight of external legal counsel
  • Build strong communication channels by working directly with teams across the UK and internationally
  • Take ownership of matters where appropriate, while also working under instruction or supervision, and collaborate with colleagues across Legal & Compliance and the wider JLR business to gather input when needed
  • Apply independent, lateral thinking to analyse and challenge business decisions, using strong influencing skills to guide stakeholders
  • Work flexibly across the team’s diverse portfolio, supporting a broad range of activities
     

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 


Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills you’ll need to help you succeed, including: 

 

  • A recognised Law degree or equivalent legal qualification
  • Experience working within a sales and marketing environment is preferred
  • Strong ability to analyse issues and provide clear, practical legal advice
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage and influence at all levels
  • Proven ability to manage a varied workload and deliver high‑quality work to tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
