JOB TITLE: Planview Training Lead
SALARY: £40,600 - £51,000

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for the development of training material, content and delivering training designed to develop  capabilities required to deliver Jaguar Land Rover’s strategic objectives in the rollout and adoption of Planview Enterprise One, Planview Leankit and Planview ProjectPlace.


The product is currently at the beginning of its deployment at JLR, therefore this role will be fundamental in partnering with teams to embed best practise in the use of the toolset, ways of working and will be responsible for both creation of training materials and the delivery of such training as capability matures. The close liaison with various business departments throughout JLR will be imperative to ensure the training material and course content is structured to reflect the business language in that area and how to get the best out of the platform to support the operational models.


Working in collaboration with Product Management peers this role is expected to build a close relationship with the vendor and stay abreast of relevant product seminars, roadmap details and proactively identify new or more efficient ways of executing core tasks – specifically in support of JLR’s transformation to a Digital and Agile enterprise.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Manage the development, design and creation of training materials for the Planview Product Suite that support learning and development initiatives to support the achievement of Jaguar Land Rover’s strategic objectives 

  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to implement the training strategy to develop programme material appropriate to the strategic and tactical needs of the business

  • Manage the development of the design theory and practical activities to simplify and convey complex learning technologies

  • Project manage the development of training content and material (e.g. updated competencies, training courses, online learning modules, assessment processes) using in house resources ensuring training strategy and standards are delivered

  • Ensures clear evaluation criteria are established for all training programmes (e.g. measuring competency uplift, performance impact, business impact of programme)

  • Organises effective piloting of new training content and material to confirm its suitability for the target audience and sign off for launch

  • Develop relevant classroom and practical activities that engage participants

  • Use Computer Assisted data and software tools to create graphics/animations to support the subject matter

  • Pilot training modules that objectives and training deliverables

  • Manage and close training projects, escalating issues

  • The project development calendar and status reviews with stakeholders at agreed milestones

  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

•    Previous experience as a Planview Technical Trainer/Developer with a premium Marque
•    Good analytical skills to identify how one issue can impact on another and put in place the required interventions through support or from own knowledge base
•    Previous experience of project management and ability to use Project Management principles 
•    Competent in MS software packages
•    Knowledgeable in Learning and Development methodologies (e.g. competencies, adult learning principles)
•    Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred



  • Experience of working with service suppliers

  • Knowledgeable in Global technical competencies in Manufacturing
