What to expect
This role is accountable for developing and defining the network architecture requirements for the EVA (Electrical Vehicle Architecture) Platform, consisting of electronic hardware and base software elements, and the interfaces between them, onto which, software based features will be deployed.

This role is responsible for understanding and designing in the platform capabilities that are required to support the PO’s and commodity delivery teams to build and deploy their features on the platform via the Feature Delivery Process, supporting the teams to an appropriate maturity of .

 

 

Ensuring all changes are harmonised and optimised at vehicle level to according to the EVA North Star Architecture design principles, in a fully collaborative manner.

This role is responsible for developing and maintaining the overall EVA Platform definition in design tools such as Dassault 3DX EE Workbench, and ensuring the EVA Platform design meets the needs of the features that are planned to be deployed on it, with an ability to measure and report EVA KPIs such as Variance, Backward Compatibility, Duplication, Number of ECU stakeholders, EDS complexity, requirements on the architecture etc. Documenting the capability and constraints of the EVA at each iteration, to enable the feature development squads.

From this platform definition, be able to inform teams across engineering what capabilities and interfaces they must deliver into the EVA.
    
Key Performance Indicators

  • All content is driven to appropriate “System Architecture” maturity by EVA Continuum unit program gateways to robustly define the hardware and software platform requirements. 

  • All content is architected and validated in accordance to the EVA North Star principles and design rules.

  • EVA definition and documentation is aligned across Network, EDS, Software and GRID

  • The content is modelled and recorded in design tools, from which the architecture diagrams and descriptions are generated and issued for each programme.

  • EVA KPIs generated at each platform definition release

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Accountable for robust delivery of the quarterly feature delivery process gateways.

  • Responsible to drive robustness into the architected systems by ensuring the EVA

Principles and Design Rules are followed by our Architects and external Stakeholders.

  • Responsible to ensure the optimal design tools are available for EVA design and documentation.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:

  • Understanding of Electrical Architecture, including considerations for all five viewpoints – Network Architecture, Software Architecture, Power Architecture, Hardware Architecture, Wiring Architecture, and GRID.

  • Detailed understanding of the EVA principles and design rules.

  • Ability to manage a large number of affected stakeholders across the business, and help them to work collaboratively.

  • Proven ability to deliver large complex electrical system design projects on time with high quality.

  • A mind for improvement of process and a drive to understand and overcome challenges.


Desirable: 
 

  • Electrical Architecture development skills and experience (creation of the design rules).
    An ability to solve complex problems and communicate the solution to the wider business.

  • An excellent level of ability to structure, analyse/ interpret data

  • Understanding of Network Technologies LIN, CAN, FlexRay, Ethernet

  • Understanding of Network Protocols LIN, CAN, FlexRay, 100/1000Base T1/X

  • A high level of IT literacy and desire to continue to learn new data tools and skills.  

  • A proven track record of translating business requirements and needs into prioritised Hardware/System/Network/Platform Requirements.

  • An understanding of the EVA Architecture
