Design Model Operations is a multi-disciplined department, ranging from office-based engineers and project staff, through to highly skilled CNC machinists, composite laminators, trimmers, painters and workshop modellers. DMO engineer, manufacture and assemble all prototype components that are required to deliver all Design models and assets. Our products include Customer Design Reference Models Aesthetic Confirmation Models Full Exterior and Interior Clay Models, the creation of Bespoke Model Parts, Scale Models and C&M requirements from display content to full assets all using a wide variety of processes and technology. 


The role of Project Supervisor will be to deliver projects/physical assets used to support the Design product development process. Typically, this will involve the identification; planning and co-ordination of specific projects at Gaydon and at suppliers to support a whole range of customers in Design, from studio-based designers to C&M designers.


Key Performance Indicators:


  • Ensure All projects are delivered in budget to the agreed specification

  • Provide full status on live projects including (COST, Quality & Time)

  • Identify issues impacting delivery against agreed specification and communicate to project leads in a timely manner.

  • Liaise regularly with key stakeholders and customer to communicate progress against project plans.

  • Create clear report-out documentation to support Leads and Management in reviews and escalations.





As Project Supervisor, you will deliver projects utilising project management techniques to ensure the delivery and achievement of planned outcomes to support the achievement of strategic business objectives. You will work on projects and work streams; from scoping to delivery and including cross-functional engagement and stakeholder management ensuring project delivery to required timescale, quality and cost. Working within the operational business, you will gage and understand current processes whilst documenting and prioritising requirements for changes and additions when needed where step changes can be introduced and included in the project.

You shall support adherence to Operational Acceptance processes, with smooth project transition to Service Delivery using lean project management principles in order to develop more effective and efficient ways of working. Within this role you will manage key stakeholder relationships, ensuring their expectations are aligned, ultimately making sure all projects are kept to the highest of standards and are completed within the agreed timeframes.



Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:





  • Previous experience in a similar role in Project Management with track record of delivery

  • Methodical detailed approach to work context

  • Analytical skills to identify how one issue can impact on another and put in place the required interventions through support or from own knowledge base

  • Experience of Problem Resolution using structured approaches

  • Ability to manage risks and issues

  • Negotiation and adaptability skills

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred





  • Experience of stakeholder management

  • Commercially astute with an ability to understand the business function that this role supports
