JOB TITLE: Senior Buyer - Semiconductors*

We are looking for a Senior Buyer for Semiconductors. You will be responsible for reporting to the Semiconductor Process Delivery Manager, and you will lead and support the creation and implementation of long term robust and sustainable processes related to the supply of semiconductors.


You will be responsible for contracting methods on existing business and ongoing governance, supply chain risk management procedures and supply chain restructuring.


You will be responsible for optimising the Semiconductor contracting process, ensuring optimum internal governance and change management procedures.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities


  • Establish a risk management procedure relevant to the ongoing supply of semiconductors
  • Ensure a clearly defined process and RASI between semiconductor strategy and delivery teams
  • Regular review of processes including feedback from stakeholders, compatibility with existing processes, DoA, streamlining opportunities
  • Regular communication with the wider Purchasing team impacted by semiconductor supply
  • Tracking workstreams related to semiconductor supply commitments and consolidating responses for Senior reporting forums




You will be responsible to establish a process that can be adopted by all relevant tiers of the supply chain to manage supply vs demand and embed early warning signs of any risks to supply.


We are searching for a results-driven individual, who has tenacity, drive and perseverance, can prioritise effectively and deliver in a complex, highly demanding environment.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience


Essential – 


  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience 
  • An individual with the ability to implement new processes that comply with existing processes and procedures, through working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders 
  • An individual with the ability to combine a short term, pragmatic focus with long term planning, in creating processes  
  • Ability to work independently
  • An individual who is resilient, energetic and enthusiastic, able to deliver results under pressure, whilst responding constructively to challenging new ideas and inputs 
  • An individual who can challenge existing thinking positively whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style


Desirable – 


  • Experience in implementing purchasing processes in Jaguar Land Rover or an environment similar to that in which Jaguar Land Rover operates
  • Background knowledge/experience of contracting, supply chain risk management, sourcing
  • Experience in implementing supply chain risk management strategies
