As a Senior Ergonomist, you will play a key role in shaping ergonomic excellence across our manufacturing operations. You’ll provide expert standards, training, guidance and investigative support to both new model development programmes and existing production teams, ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of our operators remain at the forefront.

 

Working across the full product development lifecycle - from early concept through to current manufacturing - you’ll champion the integration of ergonomics and drive continuous improvement. In this influential role, you’ll advise a wide range of internal stakeholders and collaborate closely with the Production Ergonomics team to enhance and evolve the JLR Production Ergonomics procedure.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT


In this role, no two tasks are the same. With lots of projects and relationships to build with people across the business and beyond, it’s a challenge that will help your career grow within an iconic organisation. Here’s a summary of the key responsibilities:

 

  • Support key internal teams - including Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Plant Launch and Current Manufacturing - in meeting Production Ergonomics requirements, wider company procedures and applicable legislation
  • Carry out ergonomics assessments in both live manufacturing environments and virtual settings using specialist software and motion‑capture tools, providing clear, actionable reports to stakeholders
  • Deliver engaging ergonomics training to internal groups and contribute to the development of new training formats and materials
  • Take an active role in research initiatives aimed at enhancing Production Ergonomics Standards and driving continuous improvement
  • Lead and document ergonomics assessment audits, ensuring thorough follow‑up in line with agreed processes
  • Provide guidance and oversight to other ergonomics team members within your area of responsibility, supporting their development and ensuring consistent delivery

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

 
Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills you’ll need to help you succeed, including:

 

  • A recognised qualification in ergonomics, ideally at degree level
  • Strong IT literacy, with the ability to analyse and present data confidently using Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively across diverse teams
  • A collaborative team player who builds strong working relationships and contributes positively to shared goals
  • Self‑motivated and proactive, with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage day‑to‑day projects independently
