We’re looking for a skilled Senior HIL Test Engineer to play a key role in advancing our Assisted & Automated Driving (AAD) capability. You’ll join a collaborative engineering environment where simulation, system integration and real‑world testing come together to deliver the next generation of ADAS technologies.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of test strategy and execution across both virtual and vehicle-based platforms, using state‑of‑the‑art Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop (HIL) environments to validate complex driving features. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you’ll design test cases, run automated and manual testing, triage issues, and provide the technical evidence needed for engineering sign‑off.

WHAT TO EXPECT
In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality outcomes and supporting the wider team through a range of responsibilities, including –
- Develop test strategies and author test cases aligned with AAD system requirements, following established industry-standard methodologies
- Execute both manual and automated tests across HIL environments reporting accurate verdicts and outcomes
- Perform detailed failure analysis, categorise defects, and raise all software and hardware issues using defined processes
- Manage test reports, evidence storage and documentation to support robust feature, system and sub‑system sign‑off
- Create automated test scripts and executable sequences, including scenario generation within the deployed automation framework
- Validate automatically generated test cases and contribute to the development and improvement of test automation frameworks
- Support HIL rig planning and operational activities, while driving continuous improvement to enhance test efficiency and product quality
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
We’re looking for someone with the right blend of experience, qualifications, and practical skills, including –
- Solid experience in automotive software testing, including requirements‑based testing, design verification and validation, with strong familiarity with Automotive SPICE processes
- Strong understanding of Assisted & Automated Driving (AAD) features at system, component and software level
- Good working knowledge of vehicle architecture and in‑vehicle networks, including Automotive Ethernet, CAN, LIN and FlexRay
- Practical understanding of vehicle diagnostics, especially UDS (ISO 14229‑1), and how diagnostic protocols apply to ADAS systems
- Hands‑on experience developing and executing tests on HIL platforms, plus scenario‑based testing experience (ideally using tools like DriveSim)
- Competent in industry tools such as TRM, JIRA, CANape, CANalyser, CANoe, TestStand, VeriStand, LabVIEW, AutomationDesk and ControlDesk
- Proven ability to plan and deliver HIL rig activities and manage projects effectively, demonstrating proactive delivery and strong adherence to deadlines
