An experienced Product Owner is required to drive our V2X product roadmap working in partnership with our Product Engineering colleagues, business stakeholders and external customers. We are looking for people driven by a passion for Connectivity, Agile, and Product Ownership. However the role is also open to someone with experience in the overall connectivity, telecoms, automotive, aviation, defence, infrastructure, data, and mobility industries looking for a career change into the Product Ownership space.


You will form an essential part of a collaborative, iterative and agile process within a multi-disciplined team helping deliver best in class digital solutions. This role provides a unique opportunity to help define, support and grow an entirely new agile software delivery capability within Jaguar Land Rover. Reporting directly to the Principal Product Owner for Offboard V2X and Innovation, you will be a valued member of the team, contributing to the strategic direction of V2X related products.


We’re also keen for you to mentor and share your agile skills and knowledge with other members of the scrum teams and the wider Global Digital Development Centre.


The Product Owner is responsible for the following:

● Ownership, definition, maintenance, and prioritisation of the product backlog for a subset of Offboard V2X products to meet future technology targets

● Working with the wider JLR Product Engineering, Partners and Business to help define the product vision

● Facilitating agreements and trade-offs in the product backlog

● Oversee all development stages of the product

● Work in close collaboration with Onboard and Offboard Architecture teams to make sure products meet overall architectural strategic direction

● Removing impediments for the successful delivery of the defined product backlog

● Be the primary liaison for the product to the wider business

● Evaluate and deploy strategies for the product to guide through the product lifecycle

● Helping build, maintain and prioritise development backlogs, with the agile delivery manager ensuring they are detailed enough at the right time





● Strong experience of product ownership and project delivery through software development teams in the vehicle engineering, connectivity or telecoms space

● Knowledge and or certification of Agile/ Scaled Agile practices for product ownership

● Experience with working across organisational silos and breaking down barriers to successful product ownership or project delivery

● Understanding of basic fundamentals of connectivity ecosystems

● Understanding of iterative software development and incremental delivery

● Understanding of high-quality user stories and how to drive to a satisfactory MVP

● An adaptable and pragmatic approach and a curious mind, continually asking ‘why’, able to work in a greenfield space with a lot of unknowns and be able to find the best path forward

● Independent mindset with an appreciation of what ‘better’ looks like – able to suggest improvements to existing products, processes, or ways of working, or even new products

● Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills


The following skills and experience are nice to have:


● Knowledge of other Agile methodologies such as DSDM and SAFe

● Knowledge / experience of using tools such as Jira for Agile project / product management

● Knowledge of B2B Business Models

● Knowledge and/or experience in the Telecomms Industry or Vehicle Software Engineering

● Knowledge of GDPR and Data Privacy principles

● Knowledge and/or experience in working with AWS technology stack
